All planetary gongs feature a strong fundamental note tuned to represent the orbital properties of the planet as calculated by the mathematician and musicologist Hans Cousto. They resonate in harmony with the cycles of the celestial bodies and evoke the healing energies of the planetary bodies in our solar system.

The 32-inch Saturn Paiste Gong played in this Sound Bath is a planet gong that features the note D3 tuned to represent the orbital frequencies of Saturn (147.85 Hz) as calculated by Hans Cousto. I find the Saturn Planet Gong to be both transformative and self-empowering as well as energetically stabilizing.

The 38-inch Sun Paiste Gong played in this Sound Bath is a planet gong that is the lowest tuned gong in Paiste’s Planet gong series and features the note B to represent the orbital frequencies of the Sun (63.11 Hz).

As with the entire Paiste collection the Sun gong is hand hammered by master gong artisans. Intentionally striking different places on the Sun gong creates beautiful tones and soothing effects. The Sun gong produces a very deep and rich bass tone. It also produces high pitched overtones, long sustaining notes and many subtleties of tone and is wonderfully expressive and dynamic.

The Sun is considered the biggest star in our solar system and integral to our existence. According to Hans Cousto, the Paiste Sun Gong tone represents for him "a door from one world into another." Cousto says with this tone you are helped to "exit from the known, mechanistic, and physical world..." and can enter " a new world-- a magic world." Because of his calculations being based on the speed of light, he suggests that meditation to this tone "will lead the listener to a state beyond good and bad, shame and guilt, beyond space and time, knowledge and wisdom, action and rest, being and non-being."

I personally enjoy the Sun Gong as a portal to my soul’s ongoing evolution, shining a light of consciousness within and activating the next level (s) of my personality thus altering my personal reality.
